Many may not be aware that Berlin was a fashion capital in the 1920’s with hundreds of thriving clothing manufacturers, mostly Jewish, before it succumbed to Nazi intervention. In this fascinating video, author Uwe Westphal shares this history in a discussion with FIT historian Keren Ben-Horin and journalist Jennifer Altmann (Greenstein) whose grandfather ran one of Berlin’s top fashion houses. The video debuted in Manhattan and we are delighted and honored to have its stars personally present to us, a Q + A to follow.
